This project is a mockup for a game currently in planning stages in collaboration with Allison Whitney. The idea is to create a horror-adjacent escape room game themed around the style of medieval manuscript marginalia. This simple wireframe prototype was made in Figma as a test for the placement of the inventory and settings menu. The main things I needed to include were: a collapsible inventory, a settings button (also serves as a pause menu), and volume control.
For this style mockup for the inventory, I attempt to use a paperlike feel and horizontal hatching to mimic the style common in medieval manuscript marginalia. I decided to add drop shadows for extra clarity and depth to distinguish individual elements from one another.
The red and blue bookmarks are to serve as a “combine” button and a “hint” button, and in a second pass I plan to bring more visual clarity to their purpose.
